Cecilia Lieder
About the artist:
Cecilia Lieder is a native of Minneapolis. She now lives in Duluth's East
Hillside neighborhood in a 111 year old house. She has been an artist printmaker
for over 35 years. Except for ten years in Cambridge, Massachusetts, her
professional life has been spent in Duluth. Her work has been shown extensively
in the region and in the Boston area. In 1999, she was awarded a McKnight/ARAC
Individual Artists Fellowship. She identities herself as a regional artist,
committed to making a difference in cultural awareness at the most basic levels.
She has been active in the local arts community, directing a grass roots public
arts project on the Hillside neighborhood (Perspectives on the Hillside, 1998),
and helping to found and direct the Northern Printmakers Alliance (1999), a
group of 25 regional printmakers. She also serves on the Duluth Public Arts
